WHO WE ARE

WHO WE ARE

In 1907, Oliver Perry Jenkins had a vision for a furniture store in downtown Knoxville. Less than 200 feet away from the original store and over 110 years later that vision is alive and well in the fourth generation under the direction of Terry and Meg Troutman.
Located in downtown Knoxville, O.P. Jenkins offers high-quality furniture and home accessories at extremely affordable prices. Our low overhead enables us to pass savings on to our customers in a way that other stores are unable to accomplish. Our customers are often surprised at the reasonable prices on our high-quality furniture.

FAMILY-OWNED AND OPERATED SINCE 1907

Since opening in 1907, O.P. Jenkins has been owned and managed by family members. Toward the end of the depression, Oliver Perry Jenkins was joined by his son-in-law, Jack Sherwood, who directed the business through the war and into the sixties. His son Bobby Sherwood entered the business in 1963, and was active in management until 2005. In 1984, he was joined by his son-in-law Terry Troutman, who along with his wife Meg presently own and operate the business.
Each generation has made contributions as the store has expanded, adopted and changed to meet the demands of a growing Knoxville market. Through the decades, we have stayed true to our core values by focusing on providing excellent service and quality merchandise at reasonable prices. With more than 100 years of history and five generations of family operation, O.P. Jenkins is a truly unique furniture destination in the Knoxville metro area.
